Week 6: Eagle of the Week - Ali Meagher

This weeks Eagle of the Week goes to freshman, Ali Meagher. Ali’s competiveness has not gone unnoticed by the coaching staff. She has done consistently well in conditioning and has been extremely coachable, listening, applying and working hard in practice. Furthermore, the word from strength coach, Tom Shruhan, is that Ali has not only been steady and consistent in the weight room, but she also recently passed her flexibility tests. Ali’s determination, competitive spirit and strong work ethic will no doubt take her places this year and for years to come! CONGRATULATIONS to Ali and the Maroon Team.

Week 5: Eagle of the Week - Peyton Killeen

This week’s eagle of the week goes to senior, Peyton Killeen. Peyton has really stepped into her role as captain. Throughout fall ball, and more specifically this past week, Peyton has consistently led the team in conditioning and team runs. Moreover, she has pushed her teammates to continue to improve, whether that is in team practices or making sure she gets to them on an individual level. Peyton was a real impact player this past weekend at UNH, making great connections on both the defensive and offensive ends. Her desire to improve, hustle and hard work in practice has translated to her play in our scrimmages. Congratulations to Peyton and the Maroon Team. Keep up the good work!

Week 4: Eagle of the Week - Sheila Serafino


This week’s Eagle of the Week goes to Junior, Sheila Serafino. Sheila’s hard work this summer has truly paid off! Her desire to get better and willingness to improve has been clear. Not only has she been working hard on the practice field, but she has come in to watch individual film, which she clearly applied in the tournament this weekend. Moreover, Sheila’s presence on the field, vocal leadership and work ethic in practice and in games has been a huge reason for our success. It’s something not only the coaching staff has notice, but her teammates have also commented on. Congratulations to Sheila and the GOLD team! Keep up the good work.

Week 3: Eagle of the Week - BROOKE BLUE

For the first time this fall a freshman has earned the Eagle of the week honors! Brooke Blue, of the Maroon team, has had great work ethic throughout the fall ball season and particularly this past week. Brooke played a critical role in our great wins over Harvard and BU this past weekend. Moreover, her intensity level in practice and particularly in our scrimmages this past weekend has been quite impressive to the coaching staff! Her coachability, competitiveness, determination and willingness to try new things with teammates have not gone unnoticed. There is no doubt that Brooke’s intensity and work ethic will continue to take her to new heights here at BC. Keep up the good work and congratulations to Brooke and the Maroon team.

Week 2: Eagle of the Week - HANNAH ALLEY

Hannah Alley has been chosen as last week’s Eagle of the Week! Hannah has worked very hard in the last couple of weeks to get herself back in shape after taking the majority of the summer off due to injury. However, she returned to campus with passion and has put her heart into every workout she’s been allowed to do. Somehow, she even passed the 300yd shuttle! Last week, in particular, she demonstrated a solid work ethic on the field, in the weight room, and by doing extra things along the way. She is focused, determined, and ready to help guide this team through a great fall season. Congratulations to Hannah for her first Eagle of the Week honor!

Week 1: Eagle of the Week - Katherine Caufield



Our first full fall week is complete! Katherine Caufield, a sophomore and member of the Gold Team has been honored as the year’s first Eagle of the Week. Caufield returned to campus with a renewed energy and clearly did her work over the summer. She not only passed all of the conditioning tests, but she passed them easily. In addition, she ran the Manchester Test a second time the following day to help a couple teammates pass – that is true dedication and a true teammate! Her presence on the field has also been noticed, as she is playing with a sense of confidence and poise that will certainly take her places. Directing teammates and speaking up on the field are clear indicators that she is ready to make a statement this year. What is even more impressive is that Cauf has really gone above and beyond, doing the little things when nobody is watching. She has been spotted on Alumni on multiple occasions, playing around with teammates to improve her game. The coaching staff is thrilled to see this type of work ethic, focus, determination, and positive attitude – those are the character traits that lead to great success. Congratulations to Caufield for setting the tone for everyone for 2010!

Week 13: Eagles of the Week - Jenna McCabe, Lauren Fitzpatrick & Maura Mahoney

Congratulations to the three captains for receiving this weeks Eagle of the week honor. These three individuals have done a tremendous job leading the team throughout the season and, more importantly, have done an exceptional job leading their teammates up to the ACC tournament. They continue to demand the best from their teammates and have done a terrific job of mentally preparing everyone for a crucial game versus Duke. Although, we did not pull through with a win, they did a great job of preparing their teammates on and off the field. They consistently strive for excellence as individuals and continue to push their teammates, as well. Congratulations to Lauren, Jenna & Maura for this week's honor!

Week 11: Eagle of the Week - Jill Amo

Sophomore, Jill Amo, has received this week's Eagle of the Week honor. This will be her second time receiving this honor. Jill has worked extremely hard over the last week, preparing her fellow teammates and herself for top competition. Moreover, Jill’s presence on game-day has been significant. Her loud and positive energy has translated to her teammates on and off the field. She has been a great spark when called upon and maintains the right outlook for the team. She has been seen getting to her teammates first and continues to have an energetic and upbeat attitude in practices and games, AND a tenacious mentality on the field! Congratulation to Jill Amo and her Gold Team!

Week 10: Eagle of the Week - Maura Mahoney

This week's Eagle of the Week honor goes to senior and captain, Maura Mahoney. This will be her first time receiving the honor. Maura showed true leadership by not only going to individual sessions, but also encouraging the rest of her teammates to do so. Moreover, Maura worked extremely hard in what was one of the tougher practice weeks this season. Her hard work certainly paid off against Virginia. She was 4 for 4 in her shooting, was a vocal leader on the attacking end. Maura worked hard in her re-defending efforts over the course of the week and was a presence in between the lines, causing turnovers not only in practice, but in the game. Congratulations to Maura and her Gold Team!

Week 9: Eagle of the Week - Liz Donovan

This weeks Eagle of the week goes to freshman, Liz Donovan. This is Liz's second time having receieved the Eagle of the Week honor. Donovan has had the tall task of matching up with both Vermont & UNC’s leading scorers and she certainly rose to the occassion. With great help from the defensive unit, Liz was able to hold both attackers scoreless. Moreover, Liz has consistently been working hard in practice and listening to necessary adjustments given to her by the coaching staff and her peers. Her continued focus and determination has not gone unnoticed. Congratulations to Liz and the maroon team!

Week 8: Eagle of the Week - Emily Hannigan, Margot Spatola & Katie Monaghan

After going 1-1 last week, with a solid outing against #2 Maryland, this weeks Eagle of the Week honor goes to Emily Hannigan, Margot Spatola and Katie Monaghan. This will be the second time all three individuals have earned the honor. Not only did the defense hold Holy Cross to under 10 goals, but they also held the #2 team in the country to their lowest offensive output this season. These three seniors have certainly stepped up on the field and as leaders on the defensive end. Although it was entire defensive and team effort last week, we must commend these three individuals for leading and demanding more from their teammates. Congratulations to Margot, Emily and Katie and to BOTH the Maroon and Gold teams!

Week 7: Eagle of the Week - Katie Monaghan

This weeks Eagle of the week honor goes to senior, Katie Monaghan. Monaghan's week in between the pipes was stellar, recording 14 saves vs. Brown and 12 saves vs. Virginia Tech. Moreover, the coaching staff has been extremely impressed with Katie's vocal leadership on the defensive end. Her work ethic in practice has translated into her great play in games. Congratulations to Katie and her maroon team!

Week 6: Eagle of the Week - Kristin Igoe

For the third time this year, Kristin Igoe has been awarded this weeks Eagle of the Week honor. Igoe has been a true presence on the field over the past three games recording 7 goals, 9 ground balls and 7 caused turnovers. Her hustle on the field is contagious and hard work in practice has not gone unnoticed. Moreover, her eye for the goal on attack, her relentless work ethic in the midfield and her patience on the defensive end has been a true standard of excellence. Congratulations, once again, to Kristin Igoe and her gold team!

Week 5: Eagle of the Week - Jenna McCabe


After a victorious weekend in Buffalo, Jenna McCabe earns this weeks Eagle of the Week honors. This will be Jenna’s second time, as Eagle of the Week. Jenna had a very successful weekend in Buffalo recording 14 points with 75% shooting over the course of the weekend. But it is not all about the goals and assists. The coaching staff has continued to be impressed with Jenna’s strong leadership off the field. Seeing her help out and take care of the underclassmen, particularly the freshman, throughout the weekend was another indicator as to why she deserves this week’s honor. These small things certainly do not go unnoticed by her teammates and by the coaching staff. Congratulations to Jenna and the maroon team!

Week 4: Eagle of the Week - Jill Rekart


This weeks Eagle of the Week goes to sophomore Jill Rekart, who receives this honor for the second time! With only one more week of pre-season, Rekart has continued to push herself in on the field and in the weight room. Her presence on the offensive end and willingness to take chances on the defensive end has certainly impressed the coaching staff! There is no doubt that Rek will be a major threat this upcoming weekend in Buffalo after pushing herself for five hard weeks of pre-season. Congratulations, once again, to Rekart and her gold team.

After a strong week of practice, Kristin Igoe has been named this week's Eagle of the Week! Kristin consistently demonstrated her strong work ethic, incredible athleticism, and true competitiveness all week long. Week 2: Eagle of the Week - Kate Collins

After surviving the second week of preseason, Freshman Kate Collins receives Eagle of the Week honors. Battling an ankle injury this past fall, Kate has come back strong and focused impressing not only the coaches, but her fellow teammates. Kate’s coachability, willingness to learn, positive attitude and strong work ethic have not gone unnoticed. Moreover, she continues to push herself in the weight room and in conditioning.

We are looking forward to seeing Kate’s continued progress throughout preseason and into our 2009 season! Congratulations, once again, to Kate and her Maroon team.

Week 1: Eagle of the Week - Rachel Tinquist


The first Eagle of the Week for 2009 is awarded to senior, Rachel Tinquist. Rachel not only came back to campus in great shape and ready to go (as did the entire team!), but she returned with a contagious spirit! Throughout our first week of practice, Rachel has kept the mood light, kept many of us laughing, and kept things around her positive. Her joyful spirit has been noticed by teammates and coaches alike, and it reminds us all of the power of a smile and positivity. Rachel is undoubtedly having a powerful impact on the entire team and coaching staff, and we know it will go a long way towards our success! Congratulations to Rachel and her gold team for a week well done!
