Week 1: Eagle of the Week - Katherine Caufield

Our first full fall week is complete! Katherine Caufield, a sophomore and member of the Gold Team has been honored as the year’s first Eagle of the Week. Caufield returned to campus with a renewed energy and clearly did her work over the summer. She not only passed all of the conditioning tests, but she passed them easily. In addition, she ran the Manchester Test a second time the following day to help a couple teammates pass – that is true dedication and a true teammate! Her presence on the field has also been noticed, as she is playing with a sense of confidence and poise that will certainly take her places. Directing teammates and speaking up on the field are clear indicators that she is ready to make a statement this year. What is even more impressive is that Cauf has really gone above and beyond, doing the little things when nobody is watching. She has been spotted on Alumni on multiple occasions, playing around with teammates to improve her game. The coaching staff is thrilled to see this type of work ethic, focus, determination, and positive attitude – those are the character traits that lead to great success. Congratulations to Caufield for setting the tone for everyone for 2010!

Week 13: Eagles of the Week - Jenna McCabe, Lauren Fitzpatrick & Maura Mahoney
Congratulations to the three captains for receiving this weeks Eagle of the week honor. These three individuals have done a tremendous job leading the team throughout the season and, more importantly, have done an exceptional job leading their teammates up to the ACC tournament. They continue to demand the best from their teammates and have done a terrific job of mentally preparing everyone for a crucial game versus Duke. Although, we did
not pull through with a win, they did a great job of preparing their teammates on and off the field. They consistently strive for excellence as individuals and continue to push their teammates, as well. Congratulations to Lauren, Jenna & Maura for this week's honor!

Donovan has had the tall task of matching up with both Vermont & UNC’s leading scorers and she certainly rose to the occassion. With great help from the defensive unit, Liz was able to hold both attackers scoreless. Moreover, Liz has consistently been working hard in practice and listening to necessary adjustments given to her by the coaching staff and her peers. Her continued focus and determination has not gone unnoticed. Congratulations to Liz and the maroon team!

Week 8: Eagle of the Week - Emily Hannigan, Margot Spatola & Katie Monaghan
After going 1-1 last week, with a solid outing against #2 Maryland, this weeks Eagle of the Week honor goes to Emily Hannigan, Margot Spatola and Katie Monaghan. This will be the s
econd time all three individuals have earned the honor. Not only did the defense hold Holy Cross to under 10 goals, but they also held the #2 team in the country to their lowest offensive output this season. These three seniors have certainly stepped up on the field and as leaders on the defensive end. Although it was entire defensive and team effort last week, we must commend these three individuals for leading and demanding more from their teammates. Congratulations to Margot, Emily and Katie and to BOTH the Maroon and Gold teams!
