Week 10: Eagle of the Week - Jill Amo

Focused and determined, sophomore Jill Amo has earned this week's Eagle of the Week honor! According to strength and conditioning coach, Chris McComb, Jill's hard work this semester, and particularly in the last week, is truly beginning to show. Her squat max has increased, her running form is significantly improved, and her flexibility is better than ever. This continued work ethic is certainly going to take her places...and keep the team heading in the right direction! Keep up the great work, JAmo, for yourself, your team, and the season that lies ahead!

Week 9: Eagle of the Week - Brittany Wilton

Taking her individual evaluation to heart and making it a priority to prove to the coaching staff and her teammates what she is truly capable of, freshman Brittany Wilton has earned this week’s Eagle of the Week award! There is no question Brittany has raised her level of focus, intensity, hard-work, and play in the last week and her determination has not been missed. During our team skill instructions and conditioning sessions, she clearly is taking it upon herself to raise the bar and she must be commended. We are looking forward to seeing this continued progress (and more!) from Brittany in these final weeks before winter break, and we are certain this competitiveness will carry over come the 2009 season! Congratulations Brittany – keep it up!

Week 8: Eagle of the Week - Katherine Caufield

Reports from strength and conditioning are that freshman Katherine Caufield has been doing all that is asked of her and more over the last week! She has been focused on her running, working on her form, pushing herself in the weight room, and even more impressively, she has asked to do extra to work on all that needs to improve. This type of work ethic is what enabled her to get herself out of stretch club last week, and what will certainly lead to great things ahead! Keep up the excellent work and congrats on earning your GOLD TEAM another point!

Week 6: Eagle of the Week - Nicole Tufariello

The 6th Eagle of the Week honor goes to freshman, Nicole Tufariello! Nicole has listened closely throughout the fall season and clearly taken in a lot as she works to understand BC lacrosse. She has made significant strides throughout the fall season; however, there was a clear jump this last week in her understanding, poise, and ability on the field. Much of her improvement has come from her focus and from her attendence at individual sessions. The hard work she put in last week, and the weeks leading up to it, are showing on and off the field. It is exciting to see this kind of improvement from a freshman, and I imagine her determination will continue to move her forward! Congratulations to Nicole and her maroon team! Keep up the great work!

Week 5: Eagle of the Week - Liz Donovan

"For the first time this fall a freshman has earned the Eagle of the Week honors…and it is well deserved. Liz Donovan has consistently proven herself on and off the field by maintaining a strong work ethic all week long. She has been focused and made important improvements on the defensive end, she has worked hard in individual sessions, and she is communicating well with the coaching staff. All-in-all, Liz is doing what it takes to improve on a daily basis amidst all the challenges freshmen generally face. Her positive attitude, coachability, and willingness to learn and try new things are palpable. There is no doubt with this continued determination she will quickly make her mark on BC Lacrosse! Keep up the great work for yourself, and most importantly, for the entire team!"

Week 4: Eagle of the Week - Lauren Costello

"Lauren Costello has earned the fourth Eagle of the Week honor for her hard work and dedication. She has not only been focused on the practice field, but has also pushed herself in the weight room and worked hard to improve her game through individual sessions.

As a result of receiving this honor, Lauren’s Gold team is now one step closer to evening the score with Maroon. I am sure she and all the Eagles will continue to work hard on and off the field."

Week 3: Eagle of the Week - Jill Rekart

"Sophomore Jill Rekart has earned her Gold Team a point for becoming the 3rd Eagle of the Week this fall! Jill has proven herself on and off the field, as she has attended every individual session, communicated efficiently and consistently with the coaching staff, and worked hard to improve her game within a practice and tournament. Over the weekend, as we competed against Canada, Stanford, BU, and Albany, Jill remained focused and allowed herself to improve with each game. She put into place what was asked of her by the coaching staff and made visible improvements throughout the tournament. We look forward to continued hard work, focus, and improvement from Jill in the coming weeks and months. Congratulations!"

Week 2: Eagle of the Week - Jenna McCabe

"The senior class continues to lead the way and set the standard, as the Eagle of the Week in week #2 is Senior, Jenna McCabe. Jenna consistently goes above and beyond in terms of her work ethic, coachability, and focus. She was at every extra individual session last week, gave 100% at each practice, and pushed herself to the limit in the weight room (earning mention of this fact from Chris). Jenna is a leader by example, and for those who follow her example, the rewards will likely come. She is certainly deserving of Eagle fo the Week after last week's performance, and I imagine more of these weeks lie ahead for her...and for those who watch her closely! Congratulations to Jenna and the Maroon team for the Eagle of the Week honor!"

Week 1: Eagle of the Week - Margot Spatola

"Margot has earned the first Eagle of the Week Award for the 2008-09 year! Her focus, hard work, and leadership have been evident all week long. In particular, she has worked hard to adjust stickwork mechanics we have been focusing on and has done an exceptional job of applying what we have asked of her. Additionally, she has been a constant source of communication on the defensive end and has been pushing her teammates through practice as she gives everything she has. I also received word from the weight room that Margot has been stepping up as a leader in their as well, and when you combine hard work in the weight room with hard work on the field, the results are often rewarding. Margot is very deserving of this week's honor, and I imagine many more of her determined teammates will continue to follow suit. We are off to a great start to 2009!"
